Best Bath Toys for Babies and Toddlers

Updated October 23, 2026

We reviewed bath toys across play value, mold-resistant design, and age-appropriateness. The picks span classic floating bubble toys, educational foam letters and numbers that stick to tub walls, numbered boat trains, creative suction build toys, and animal stacking cups with different pour effects.

The most important factor in bath toys is mold resistance. Traditional squeeze toys with holes can trap water inside, creating conditions where mold grows out of sight. This has become a well-documented concern among parents, and several products in this comparison address it directly with sealed, no-hole designs. If mold is a priority concern, look for toys specifically described as watertight or sealed -- it is not a universal feature.

Age range determines which type of toy fits. Floating and sensory toys designed for 4 months and up are the right fit for infants who lack the motor skills for more complex play. Foam letters that stick to walls and numbered boats work well for toddlers who are starting to learn colors, shapes, and numbers. Suction build toys that connect to surfaces require the dexterity and attention span of a 3-year-old and up. Stacking cups that pour water in different patterns work across a wide age range from early toddler through preschool. Match the toy to the child's current developmental stage rather than the broadest listed age range.

Munchkin Float & Play Bubbles Baby Bath Toys, 4 Count

Munchkin Float & Play Bubbles has the largest buyer base of any bath toy in this comparison, with strong buyer feedback and Amazon's Choice designation. Best Boat Set

Munchkin Little Boat Train Bath Toys, Baby Bath Toys, 6 Piece Set

Munchkin Little Boat Train includes 6 small boats numbered 1 through 6, each with a different face. The boats link together to form a train, scoop up water, and strain when turned upside down.
