Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 7, 2026

TheRateLab.com is an independent product research site. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how you can control it.

Information We Collect

We only collect personal information when you choose to provide it:

• Email address -- if you submit a product category request and include your email, we store it to notify you when that category goes live and to send you occasional updates, new category announcements, and other communications from TheRateLab.

We do not collect your name, location, payment information, or any other personal details.

How We Use Your Information

Your email address may be used to send you a notification when your requested category is published, as well as occasional newsletters, new category announcements, and other updates from TheRateLab. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send.

How We Store Your Information

Email addresses are stored in a secure Cloudflare database. You can remove yourself from our list at any time using the unsubscribe link included in any email we send you.

Unsubscribing

Every notification email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Clicking it immediately removes your email address from our system. You can also contact us directly at hello@theratelab.com to request removal.

Cookies and Analytics

We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. This collects anonymized data such as pages visited, time on site, and general location (country or region). Google Analytics uses cookies. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using Google's opt-out tool.

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or any third-party tracking beyond Google Analytics.

Amazon Affiliate Disclosure

TheRateLab participates in the Amazon Associates program. When you click a product link and make a purchase on Amazon, we earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. This does not affect our product rankings or verdicts.

Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate the site:

• Cloudflare -- hosting, database, and security
• Google Analytics -- anonymized site usage analytics
• Resend -- transactional email delivery
• Amazon Associates -- affiliate link program

Each of these services has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with anyone. Your email address is never shared with third parties outside of the email delivery services required to send our communications.
