Why We Moved This to Consider
Amazon Basics double rod was one of the few widely available double-rod options on Amazon, and its 1-inch diameter made it a natural default. The category has moved on. ENJOYBASICS now offers a quick-release double rod designed for blackout layering at a comparable price.
Amazon Basics still covers the basics: a 1-inch double rod that spans 72 to 144 inches. If you find it noticeably cheaper than the ENJOYBASICS at the time you order, the price difference can justify the feature trade-offs. But if the prices are within a few dollars, the quick-release mechanism on the ENJOYBASICS is worth it, especially if you ever plan to switch curtain panels.
Pros and Cons
Pros
- Amazon Basics return policy is simple if anything is wrong
- 1-inch diameter handles two layers of curtains without flex
- Nickel finish works in classic and transitional interiors
Cons
- No quick-release -- panel changes require a full rod dismount
- Newer double rods from ENJOYBASICS match or beat it on features at similar price
- 72-inch minimum is too wide for most single bedroom windows
- Cap finials look dated compared to flat-disc and sphere finials on newer models
Bottom Line
Amazon Basics double rod is a reasonable fallback but no longer the default pick. It covers wide windows, and the return policy is easy. Check the price gap versus ENJOYBASICS: if it is more than a few dollars cheaper, it can be worth it. Otherwise, pay the small premium for the quick-release feature.
