Why We Are Skipping It
The Roomba i7+ was a strong product when it launched. The problem is that the category has moved significantly. Roborock's laser navigation outperforms iRobot's vSLAM mapping in room coverage and obstacle handling. Ecovacs added self-cleaning mops and multi-function docks. iRobot has not kept pace.
At its current Amazon price, this is one of the most expensive robot vacuums in the mainstream market. The Roborock Q7 M5+ costs less and outperforms it on navigation, suction, and edge cleaning. There is no objective justification for the price difference unless you are already in the iRobot ecosystem.
