Vertical mouse design addresses the root cause of most repetitive strain injuries from mouse use. A standard flat mouse holds the forearm in a pronated position that creates sustained rotational stress on the forearm tendons and wrist joint. A vertical mouse holds the hand in a neutral position that eliminates this rotational stress entirely. The adjustment period is 1-2 weeks of feeling unfamiliar, after which most users report immediate improvement in wrist comfort.

DPI setting matters less than marketing suggests. Most productivity work requires 400-800 DPI for comfortable cursor speed at typical monitor resolutions. High DPI is useful for gaming where small physical movements need to cover screen distance quickly. For office and productivity use, the DPI range is rarely the limiting factor -- precision, button placement, and wrist comfort are more meaningful criteria.
