Why We Skip This One

The Ring Wired Doorbell Plus is a real product with real specs, but it launched very recently with almost no consumer reviews. A doorbell is a security device -- you are trusting it to reliably detect motion, send alerts, and hold up to weather. Under 100 reviews does not give us enough data to assess reliability. We have seen Ring's battery-powered models perform well at scale; we cannot say the same for this wired version yet.

The wired-only requirement also narrows the audience significantly. Most buyers either lack existing wiring or prefer the flexibility of wireless. If you need a wired Ring doorbell, the older Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 has thousands of reviews and a proven track record. We will revisit this model once more real-world data is available.

Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Continuous power via wiring -- no battery to charge
  • Retinal 2K video from Ring's latest generation
  • Low-Light Sight improves night footage

Cons

  • Under 100 reviews -- insufficient track record
  • Requires existing doorbell wiring
  • 4x zoom is less than the 6x on the Battery Doorbell Plus

Bottom Line

Skip the Ring Wired Doorbell Plus for now. It's too new to trust. Buy the Ring Battery Doorbell or Battery Doorbell Plus instead -- both are proven, wireless, and deliver equal or better video for most buyers.
